Day in the life of a central office supervisor on a county-wide sick day
Have you ever wondered what a central office supervisor does on a snow day or sick day when the schools are closed? I kept a running record of my actions and tasks today and shared them below.   • 6:45 a.m.  Woke up and got ready for work. Shower, makeup, clothes…..
  • 7:55 a.m. Arrive at the office and unload my vehicle from the last PD I conducted and put it all up in the office closet (which needs cleaned) 
  • 8:15 a.m. Check emails and responded as needed 
  • 8:30 a.m. Prepare any last minute notes for the Principals’ Meeting 
  • 8:40 a.m. Answer parent call 
  • 8:45 a.m. Copies for ELA Teachers PD 
  • 8:55 a.m. Send out an email to SS teacher with a great  freeTN SS resources (Click here to see it) 
  • 9:00 a.m. Principals Meeting 
  • 10:00 a.m. Individual chats with principals
  • 10:30 am Answer parent call
  • 10:45 am Answer vendor call 
  • 10:50 a.m Find judges for Science Fair 
  • 11:00 a.m. Answer parent call 
  • 11:05 a.m. Complete travel forms for upcoming training 
  • 11:20 a.m. Create agenda for my next meeting and type up notes from the previous meeting 
  • 12:00 p.m. Meeting 
  • 1:00 p.m. Grab a late lunch while editing pictures for district Facebook page 
  • 1:30 p.m. Upload pictures and create a post on District Facebook and Twitter accounts
  • 1:40 p.m. Create a list of rocking-chair reads versus high quality read alouds for K-2 
  • 2:15 p.m. Answer parent call
  • 2:20 p.m. Compare 2018 Study Island winter results to 2019 Study Island winter results and create charts for principals and teachers. 
  • 3:00 p.m. Answer parent call
  • 3:05 p.m. Answer a vendor call 
  • 3:10 p.m. Create a resource requested by a teacher
  • 3:45 p.m. Answer a admin call 
  • 4:00 p.m. Sign field trip requests, make copies, and send signed copies to principals and to the board 
  • 4:10 p.m. Submit Teachers of the Year, Principal of the Year, and Supervisor of the year to the Core office (Fingers crossed for our people, I know they are great) 
  • 4:20 p.m. Send the Teachers of the Year, Principal of the Year, and Supervisor of the year an email with their Core office applications and tips for competition. 
  • 4:30 p.m. Attempt to clean up my desk and change my status to out to training in Knoxville. 
  • 4:35 p.m. Turn out my lights, lock up, and head to a community meeting.
