Working In My Room Update With Pictures!

I returned to my classroom today to start on a few projects. For some reason I cannot just work on one project, I need to work on many. Over the last few years I have collected many different baskets of all shapes and sizes. I have decided I would like all my baskets to be the same color, so I purchased some plastic spray paint in black.

This is what they look like so far. I started with six baskets, so now I only have about twenty more to go. The second project I was working on I found an on Lady Bug Teacher Files. She puts contact paper on her tables to make them all look alike. Since I have a variety of tables with different shades of wood, I decided I wanted to try the contact paper idea.

Please ignore the mess in the picture, but this is what it looked like when I finished putting the contact paper on top. I am going to put black electric tape on the sides. What do you guys think? Should I go with black contact paper instead, since my colors are pink and black?

  • I worked with small sections and I used a shopping card to help me smooth. What you don't see in the picture is crumpled up contact paper thrown in the floor. I learned my lesson on going slow and not rushing. Thank you for stopping by!

  • Meagan:I like the neutral look. It would blend with anything (and it won't be as obvious if there are a few nicks or tears) I'm with Jessica… impressive job! Mine would have LOTS of bumps and wiggles…I haven't been motivated to start any new projects yet, but I am sure having fun following yours! Thanks for sharing…KimFinding JOY in 6th Grade
